Parental Engagement Activities

Maymar supports a safe school environment where students learn challenging standards. It creates a school climate and structures that support family involvement. Provide families with a list of required mastery skills for each subject taught at your grade level. Invite families to share hopes for and concerns about children and then work together to set student’s goals.

To get the best results from parental involvement efforts, we want you to join our movement to plant the seeds of student’s improvement. Here are some activities that Maymar schools implement where you can get involved in:

Co-curricular Activities

All work and no play make jack a dull boy! Co-curricular activities are compulsory to mould children into well-rounded individuals.

Early Childhood Education is more than just child-minding or even learning the alphabet and counting and recognizing colours. We understand these skills are important, but a holistic education means an investment in a more fruitful future with benefits that last lifetime.

The four activities listed are part of the Kids Club ‘Education for Life’ program, created to give your child the best start to their future and a life-long love of learning. The program covers seven key learning areas:

•   Exploration
•   Community & Culture
•   Self-identity
•   Scholastics
•   Creativity
•   Thinking Skills
•   Mind & Body

Here are some co- curricular activities:

•   Swimming: Time to dive right in
•   Gymnastics: Focus, Balance, enthusiasm
•   Martial arts: The art of Self-Defence
•   Academic-Related: Make learning more fun
•   Pottery: Creating masterpieces with clay
•   Story-Telling: Tiny tales and lasting memories
•   Sports: Grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially

Character Building Syllabi

Maymar’s core objective is to build positive role model amongst our children, teachers, parents and the school community. The aforementioned is a core strategy towards empowering and inspiring our young leaders to be intrinsically:

•   Independent Thinking with positive interpersonal attitude
•   Embodies values of Respect, Integrity, Self Discipline and Excellence (RISE)
•   Aware of and appreciate the environment
•   Awareness of Global Humanitarian Concerns
•   Encourage students to take responsibility for their actions
•   To familiarize them with good character traits
•   To place role models before them
•   To help develop good citizens with high moral values.

Emphasize on Languages

There are four main areas of language – Listening, speaking, reading and writing.

We focus on all. Through Receptive skills (Listening and reading) we make students produce productive skills (speaking and writing)

Student Individual Development Plan

Maymar knows students aren’t created in a factory. They’re not spit out of a machine onto a conveyor belt, the next one exactly like the last. Students have individual differences and unique personalities and, as a result, individual learning needs and styles.

International Benchmark Curriculum

International indicators provide an opportunity to compare a country performance with that of other countries, to identify similarities and differences between one system and others, and to suggest new approaches to the challenge of providing a world-class education.

Policy debates and decision-making processes with regard to the curriculum increasingly refer to international benchmarks or the need to benchmark to international standards as a tool to ensure high quality, effectiveness and accountability and achieve a world-class educational system.

STEM Based Education

Maymaroffers STEM based education which is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons as students apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and the global enterprise. This type of noisy, exuberant classroom exemplifies what Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) schools are about. Learning is collaborative and project-based; kids work closely together in a hands-on way to solve real-world problems.

Parent Portal

Parent’s involvement is crucial to student academic success. The Parent Portal is a tool for you to stay informed and engaged in your child’s education. The Maymar’s Parent Portal is a feature of the Maymar’s Student Information System that provides parents/guardians immediate access to grades, assignments and attendance records in an effort to facilitate and improve communication between home and school.

Islamic Education System

Keeping in view the importance of knowledge highlighted by Qur’an and the Prophet (peace be upon him), Maymar developed an Islamic system of education in which pupils learn to read and write. Students are expected to memorize the Qur’an as perfectly as possible.

Islamic Education System helps in reinforcingTaqwa, to affirm the Prophet (P.B.U.H) as a role model, to respect humanity and the environment, to include Islamic values and morals, to emphasize totality of Islam. Commitment to character-building based on the ideals of Islamic ethics is the highest goal of Islamic education system.

Activity Based Learning

Activities for preschoolers make learning fun and hands-on. The activity-based approach is an effective method which creates a visible improvement in a child’s understanding, learning and psychology.

Children are learners rather than passive recipients of information. To begin with, activity-based learning simply implies that the child plays an active role in their own learning where he learns by doing. Tools like three-dimensional models, experiments, puzzles, flash-cards, role play methods, and so on are used to engage the child where they learn by being involved in these activities.

Student Counseling

Maymar is also providing therapy and counseling services to students during school hours. Counseling is designed to facilitate student achievement, improve student behavior and attendance, and help students develop socially. Maymar offers individual counseling to help students resolve personal or interpersonal problems. Maymar also offers small group counseling to help students enhance listening and social skills, learn to empathize with others, and find social support through healthy peer relationships. For students who are otherwise unable to access mental health services, school counselors provide support at no cost. School counselors also provide support to school staff by assisting with classroom management techniques and the development of programs to improve mental

Counselors help students:

•   Maintain academic standards and set goals for academic success.
•   Develop skills to improve organization, study habits, and time management.
•   Work through personal problems that may affect academics or relationships.
•   Improve social skills.
•   Identify interests, strengths, and aptitudes through assessment.

Easy Transfer Facility

•   The students are offered the facility of Inter-city and Intra-city transfer from one school campus to another in ‘Maymar’ network of schools. Parent/Guardian can apply for migration, indicating the recipient campus. The transferring school initiates the “Letter of Transfer” and proceeds to coordinate the students transfer with its Regional Office.
•   The student transfer facility is allowed two (02) months prior to the mid-year and end of year examination months.
•   The RO will assist, if a parent requests the Regional Office to locate a campus in case of a transfer or migration.
•   At the time of transfer, the recipient campus issues the “Fee Challan” for the specified amount as transfer processing charges.
•   The recipient school accepts the student’s transfer and takes the student on roll once payment of transfer-fee is made at the designated bank.
